Enrolment Information

We welcome enrolment enquiries and applications all year round to support your family’s needs and ensure timely access to the right support.

While we do our best to accommodate every child, placements are very limited. Education Support Centre’s do not have a ‘catchment area’ like Mainstream schools do, however, we do aim to provide places to the families where we are their closest Education Support setting.

Enrolments are typically considered in term 3. Once you enrol and your paperwork is all returned, we’ll let you know as soon as possible if a place is available.

Before You Apply: What You Need to Know

You can find key information about Creaney ESC on our website — including details about our programs, uniforms, contributions and charges, booklists, canteen and transport.

School Zoning

Creaney ESC accepts students from outside our immediate local area. However, if you require the school bus service, it is only available for students living nearest to their local Education Support centre.

Who We Support

We provide specialised education for children aged 4 to 11 who meet eligibility in one or more of the following categories:

  • Intellectual Disability
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Severe Mental Health Disorder with high educational needs
  • Severe Medical Conditions
  • Physical Disability

Please note

  • If your child turns 4 years old on or before 30 June 2026, they are eligible to begin Kindergarten in 2026.
  • If your child turns 5 years old on or before 30 June 2025, they are required to start Pre-primary in 2026.

Introductory Meeting & School Tour

We encourage families to contact us to arrange a conversation and tour. This meeting is an opportunity to:

  • Answer all your questions about starting school
  • Discuss your child’s individual needs and goals
  • Review specialist reports and assessments
  • Explore program options and make personalised recommendations
  • Tour the school while it’s in session

Please bring along any relevant documentation, such as medical, educational or psychological reports. These help us determine eligibility for enrolment.

Enrolment Application Process

To begin, you need to return the Expression of Interest form found in your information pack. In term 3 when spaces are confirmed, the Principal will contact you to see if you are still interested in a place and will send out an enrolment package.

You then complete the Request for Approval for Enrolment in an Education Support Facility form. This must be signed by the child’s parent/guardian, our school Principal, and your local school Principal (if applicable).

Supporting Documents Required

You may need to provide the following:

  • For Global Developmental Delay: A paediatrician’s report completed within six months of the school year start.
  • For Autism Spectrum Disorder: Reports from a paediatrician, speech therapist, and psychologist.

Once your child’s application is approved, you’ll receive a formal Offer of Enrolment from our Principal, along with the next steps to finalise enrolment.

After Enrolment

Once your child is officially enrolled, our team will work with you to plan a smooth transition into school. This may include staggered start times, classroom visits or other supports based on your child’s needs.

Your child’s teacher will also organise a Parent-Teacher Meeting to develop your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
